QTW 67 - QuickTime for Windows Installer (1-Aug-95)

Q We are writing an installer for an interactive CD. We were going to call the Apple QuickTime for Windows installer, but the Apple Installer does not allow the QuickTime files to be installed on any drive other than the C drive. This is not acceptable for general distribution to the public, since PC users often have more than one drive (or drive partition), and they do not always install products on their C partition.

Is there another installer available that allows the QuickTime files to be installed on a partition specified by the user?

A The QuickTime for Windows licensing agreement requires that all QuickTime for Windows support files be installed in the user's WINDOWS or WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. This full installation is the only way to prevent collisions between multiple QuickTime for Windows applications that may include versions of QuickTime for Windows that are older or newer than the version you include with your application.
